Hajj Return 2026: Ministry of Hajj Reminds About Zamzam Ban in Luggage, There Are Changes in Flight Terminals
The Indonesian Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (Kemenhaj) is overseeing the return process of 2026 Hajj pilgrims from Saudi Arabia. As of Saturday (6/6/2026), a total of 23,365 regular pilgrims and staff have been dispatched, with 22,172 of them arriving in Indonesia. For special Hajj, 8,070 pilgrims and staff have returned.
Kemenhaj Spokesperson Ichsan Marsha stressed the importance of complying with baggage rules: one cabin bag maximum 7 kg and one checked bag maximum 32 kg. Zamzam water is prohibited in luggage because it can hinder inspections. Each pilgrim will receive one 5-liter zamzam gallon at the Indonesian debarkation point.
Due to congestion at King Abdul Aziz Airport in Jeddah, several flights for Indonesian pilgrims have been redirected from the Hajj Terminal to Terminal 1. The Hajj Pilgrims Organizing Committee (PPIH) has placed personnel at the new terminal to ensure optimal assistance. Pilgrims are asked to follow staff directions and maintain their health while waiting for departure.
