Government Urges Indonesian Citizens and Umrah Pilgrims to Stay Alert in Saudi Arabia
The Indonesian government is calling on all Indonesians in Saudi Arabia, including umrah pilgrims, to be extra careful following the latest security developments in the Middle East. This warning comes as reports roll in about missile attacks from Houthi groups targeting King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh on Saturday (10/10) and Sunday (11/10) local time.
Ichsan Marsha, spokesperson for the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, asked Indonesians to stay calm, prioritize safety, and follow official info and guidance from local authorities as well as Indonesian representatives. Citizens are advised to steer clear of risky areas, cut down on non-essential outings, and avoid spreading unverified news that could cause unnecessary panic.
Umrah pilgrims are urged to keep in touch with their Umrah Travel Organizers (PPIU) for the latest travel updates. Potential pilgrims should also double-check departure details through official channels before heading out.
