Getting Ready for Laylatul Qadr: A Simple Guide
Assalamu alaikum everyone! With Laylatul Qadr coming up, I thought I'd share some easy things to do. These are based on the Sunnah and can bring huge rewards if you catch that blessed night. Let's keep it simple and sincere, insha'Allah. First thing first, make this du'a your best friend: "Allahumma innaka afuwwun, tuhibbul-afwa, fa'fu anni." Try to say it at least 100 times with a real, humble heart. It's the du'a our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) taught Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) for this night. So, don't skip it! Here’s a little list to help out: 1. **Pray some extra at night.** Even just two rak'ahs where you take your time reciting longer verses counts as Qiyam. If you do it on Laylatul Qadr, it’s like you prayed for 84 years! Subhanallah. 2. **Say Surah Al-Ikhlas three times.** It’s short and powerful-each recitation is like a third of the Quran. Doing this on the Night of Decree is counted as if you read the whole Quran for 84 years. 3. **Recite the last two verses of Surah Al-Baqarah before sleeping.** They’re a protection and a blessing, especially at night. 4. **Give a little charity each night.** Even a small amount given sincerely on Laylatul Qadr gets recorded as if you gave charity non-stop for 84 years. Every bit helps! 5. **Say "La ilaha illa Allah..." 100 times.** This remembrance is so heavy on the scales. If done on that night, it’s like freeing tons of slaves and saving them from the Fire. 6. **There’s a special supplication the Prophet (peace be upon him) taught.** Say: "La ilaha illa Allah..." then ask: "Allahumma ighfir li, warhamni, wahdini, warzuqni." It fills your hands with goodness for thousands of nights if done on Laylatul Qadr. 7. **Ask forgiveness for all the believers.** Just say "Allahumma ighfir lil-mu'minina wal-mu'minat." You get good deeds for every single believer-imagine the count on Laylatul Qadr! 8. **Say "Subhan Allah" 100 times.** Easy, right? On that night, it could mean 30 million good deeds or sins wiped away. 9. **Say "Subhanallahi wa bihamdihi Subhanallahi Azeem" 100 times.** It’s a way to have your sins forgiven, even if they were as much as sea foam. 10. **Send blessings on the Prophet (peace be upon him) 100 times.** For each one, Allah sends ten mercies. On Laylatul Qadr, that’s 3 million blessings coming your way! 11. **Make du'a for a righteous spouse and family.** Recite: "Rabbana Hablana min Azwajina wa zurriyyatinaa qurrata a'ayun, waaj'alnaa lil muttaqeen imaamaa." Ask for a partner and kids who are the coolness of your eyes and make you among the pious. May Allah accept all our efforts and grant us the blessing of Laylatul Qadr. Please remember me and my family in your sincere prayers. Jazakum Allahu khayran!
