Dedi Mulyadi's No-Show at TPAKD National Meeting Seen as a Political Signal
BANDA ACEH – Political and legal analyst Muslim Arbi spotlighted West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi’s absence from the TPAKD national coordination meeting, attended by President Prabowo Subianto. He reckons the no-show might raise questions about KDM's political loyalty as a Gerindra Party cadre.
Muslim suspects Dedi is starting to chart a more independent political course as his popularity climbs, based on 2029 presidential electability surveys. "KDM is beginning to stray and defy Prabowo. He’s feeling cocky because of various surveys that put him ahead of Prabowo," he said, Sunday (10/25/2026).
A Tempo Data Science survey back in August 2026 had Dedi’s electability at 41 percent, leaving Prabowo in the dust at 15 percent. Muslim thinks numbers like that could really strengthen Dedi’s bargaining power in the national political arena.
"When a party cadre who’s also a governor skips an event attended by the president, of course the public’s gonna wonder," Muslim said, adding that it’s worth keeping an eye on how this might shake up his political ties with Gerindra.
