Deadly Crash in Porong Sidoarjo: Motorcyclist Killed After Being Run Over by a Trailer
Sidoarjo – A 19-year-old motorcyclist, Nagita Ulwiyah Tikno, died in an accident on the Simo Arteri Highway, Kesambi Village, Porong District, Saturday (10/3) at around 3 PM local time. She was riding a Honda Vario from Malang toward Surabaya and tried to overtake a trailer on the left side.
Porong Police Chief Imam Yuwono explained that as her motorcycle was beside the middle of the trailer, she apparently lost her balance and fell. She was then run over by the rear left tire of the trailer and died at the scene.
Officers have processed the scene and evacuated the body to Bhayangkara Porong Hospital. Police suspect the crash happened because the victim wasn’t careful enough while maneuvering. The trailer driver’s been questioned, and the vehicles involved were secured as evidence.
The case is now being handled by the Traffic Unit of Sidoarjo Police for further investigation.
