Commission II of the Indonesian House Pushes for Revision of Admin Law, Says Jember’s Public Service Innovation Deserves to Be Emulated
Commission II member Muhammad Khozin gave props to the public service transformation in Jember Regency after checking out the Jember Public Service Mall (MPP) together with Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Rini Widyantianti on Monday (10/26). From his direct chats with residents and officers, he felt the service at MPP Jember was running pretty well.
Khozin pointed out a shift in how services work in Jember, which now uses a proactive “ball-pickup” approach instead of just waiting around. This covers things like population administration, health facilities, and even fixing up rundown houses.
Commission II, along with the Ministry of PANRB and the Ministry of Home Affairs, is pushing to overhaul public services nationwide. They're currently drafting a revision to the Population Administration Law to switch from a passive to an active service style, so the government gets ahead in registering residents who haven't been recorded administratively.
Khozin hopes Jember regency can become a national role model for how public services are managed, so its good practices spark other regions to get creative in offering quick, reliable services to their people.
