Bakorwil Malang and PWI East Java Strengthen Public Communication Synergy for a Megapolitan Malang
Bakorwil Malang head Asep Kusdinar met with East Java PWI chairman Lutfil Hakim in Surabaya on Thursday (6/25) to discuss the strategic potential of the southern region of East Java and the importance of a shared narrative to accelerate development toward a Megapolitan Malang.
Asep emphasized that his working area has diverse characteristics, like urban centers, mountains, agriculture, and coastal zones, which need development approaches tailored to local potential. The Megapolitan Malang concept includes inter-regional connectivity, new economic growth centers, and optimizing tourism, agriculture, creative industries, education, and investment.
He stressed the strategic role of the media in building optimism and showcasing regional potential. “A positive development narrative will become a shared energy,” he said, while adding the importance of strengthening public communication.
PWI East Java chairman Lutfil Hakim welcomed the idea and expressed the media’s readiness to be a strategic partner for the government in delivering professional and balanced development information. This discussion is expected to strengthen the synergy between Bakorwil Malang and the press to realize Greater Malang as a competitive, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth hub.
