Alliance of 40 Islamic Mass Organizations Urges Bareskrim to Investigate Ade Armando & Others Regarding JK Sermon Video Clip
An alliance of 40 Islamic mass organizations visited the National Police's Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) on Monday, May 11, 2026, to follow up on a legal report filed against Ade Armando, Grace Natalie, and Permadi Arya (Abu Janda). This report concerns alleged framing or defamation in a clipped video of a sermon by former Vice President Jusuf Kalla (JK) at Gadjah Mada University (UGM).
The alliance's spokesperson, Syamsul Qomar from MN KAHMI, emphasized the importance of the investigation because the reported parties are seen as showing no remorse. He stressed that JK's sermon was contextualized around peace.
Ade Armando refuted the accusations, stating that he is not guilty and had no intention of sowing discord or provocation. He also views this report as an attack on the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI), whose name was repeatedly mentioned.
