Aceh Police Chief Urges Students to Stay Away from Drugs and Stop Bullying, Stresses the Importance of Character
BANDA ACEH – Aceh Police Chief Inspector General Ruddi Setiawan made it clear that the future of young people isn’t just about academic achievements-it’s shaped by character, the company they keep, and how much they care. He said all this while serving as the Flag Ceremony Inspector at SMA Negeri 2 Banda Aceh on Monday, October 19, 2026.
In front of the principal, teachers, staff, and students, the Police Chief called on the whole school community to protect the younger generation from the dangers of drug abuse and bullying. Schools should be safe and comfortable places for learning, developing potential, and chasing dreams, he said.
According to data from the Aceh Police’s Drug Directorate, from January to September 2026, they uncovered 979 drug cases with 1,253 suspects, including 35 students or teenagers. Meanwhile, the Banda Aceh Police recorded four bullying cases involving four victims and 14 perpetrators. The Police Chief encouraged students to say no to drugs, respect each other, and report any bullying to teachers or parents.
Ruddi also told the students to dare to dream big and to balance academic success with good morals, honesty, and caring for others. He stressed that protecting the youth is everyone’s responsibility-the police, schools, parents, and the community-so that a generation of integrity can grow up and contribute to the nation.
