Abdul Mu’ti Inaugurates RS UMMAT PKU East Lombok, Stresses Healthy Lifestyle and Humane Service
Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Abdul Mu’ti, together with NTB Governor Lalu Muhamad Iqbal, inaugurated the Universitas Muhammadiyah Mataram Hospital (RS UMMAT) PKU Muhammadiyah East Lombok on Sunday (17/5). The event was attended by Muhammadiyah officials, community leaders, health workers, and representatives from education and social organizations.
In his speech, Abdul Mu’ti emphasized the importance of building a health-conscious society, not just adding more healthcare facilities. He pointed out the rise in non-communicable diseases like diabetes and obesity among school-aged children due to lack of physical activity and excessive gadget use. The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education is promoting healthy lifestyles in schools through programs like the Great Indonesian Children’s Gymnastics.
Abdul Mu’ti also praised Muhammadiyah NTB for bringing a hospital with a spirit of service and devotion. He stressed that the key to healthcare is friendliness and sincerity, not just facilities and technology. Muhammadiyah is also advancing national health industry self-sufficiency through an infusion factory and satellite clinics reaching down to the village level.
NTB Governor Lalu Muhamad Iqbal expressed optimism that RS UMMAT PKU Muhammadiyah East Lombok will become a trusted healthcare hub. He remarked that Muhammadiyah has great strength in building public services thanks to the public’s trust, a culture of devotion, and consistent governance.
