A Worried Heart: Visiting a Shrine with My Family-Did I Err?

Assalamu alaikum. I accepted Islam a few months ago, but my family doesn’t know. They’re my only support-financially, physically, and sometimes emotionally. I’ve kept it hidden because I fear their judgment; they already look down on Muslims, so I can’t imagine their reaction. To avoid conflict and keep our ties, I just go along with things. They see how tough my life is right now, and to them, visiting a shrine from our old faith seemed like the best idea. I went, but I didn’t join any prayers or rituals. I just sat quietly and watched, never affirming the old beliefs. I used to be very devout in that faith, and Islam feels so new-it’s all overwhelming. Please help me, did I commit a sin by going?
