A vital reminder for Muslims in the UK

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh, I want to share something important with all my brothers and sisters here in the UK. Anti-Muslim bigotry from far-right groups has always been around, but lately it’s getting worse and more openly accepted-especially on social media and in some mainstream conversations. Our deen is constantly under attack with baseless accusations, fake stories, and claims about Muslims that have zero backing in the Quran or Sunnah. One major liar is Rupert Lowe, who leads Restore Britain. He’s been saying awful things about Islam and Muslims, like claiming we see non-Muslim women who don’t dress modestly as “meat” - absolute nonsense and a total twist of our teachings. His followers are just like the crowd backing Tommy Robinson. Then there’s Elon Musk, a billionaire funding Lowe and other Islamophobes to push lies about our religion and community. Not long ago, he couldn’t even deny being anti-Muslim when asked directly. His meddling in UK far-right politics is really worrying. I’m bringing this up because in my own city, and from what I hear from others, sisters in hijab or niqab are getting shouted at or even physically attacked. Brothers minding their own business are facing threats and violence too. Just weeks ago, a brother I know was assaulted in a park while with his daughter - some thug called him a predator. We should never react with recklessness or hostility. Our foundation is sabr, excellent character, and calming things down peacefully when possible. But we can’t let these bullies terrorize our community. There’s no shame in being able to defend yourself and your family if danger comes. I urge any brothers and sisters who can to pick up a proper combat sport-like MMA, wrestling, or another self-defence style-so you can protect yourself if needed. My advice: keep making dua to Allah for protection, hold tight to the Quran and Sunnah, grow your connection with Him, train to defend yourselves responsibly, have each other’s backs, stay united, and avoid sins and pointless trouble. Remember, Allah is with us. For these enemies of Islam, a painful punishment awaits in the akhirah. May Allah protect all our families and communities, keep us steadfast on the truth, and grant us safety, wisdom, and unity. Ameen.
