A sister’s struggle 💀
Assalamu alaikum everyone, I just need to vent a little... 😂 So I recently moved to Germany for studies, and alhamdulillah, I’ve met so many people from different backgrounds, including lots of Muslims! I’m really trying my best to hold onto my deen-salah, fasting, avoiding haram food, you know? I’m not perfect, nowhere near, I have my own struggles. I don’t even wear hijab yet, but I’m working on it inshaAllah. Anyway, there’s this one classmate, a sister from another African country (I think most folks there are Christian). She wears hijab, so mashAllah, but honestly… the way she acts sometimes makes me go 🤔. She was so excited telling everyone she finally went to a nightclub. Some non-Muslim friends actually asked me if that’s normal for us! I was just like, astaghfirullah... 😭 Then one day we were in the cafeteria, lots of choices-veggie stuff, beef, whatever. She grabs the beef. I couldn’t stop myself: “Ukhti… you know this meat isn’t halal, right?” She just said, “I don’t care. I’m not starving myself over some meat. I love meat too much.” And she mentioned back home they ate like that since most people weren’t Muslim. I told her, “But sister, halal meat is literally everywhere here!” And she was like, “Yeah but not every place has it, so honestly, I don’t care.” That’s when I just… stopped. Like okay, message received 😂💀 And the last time we ate together, she straight up told me, “I’m gonna keep eating my haram food.” Ya Rabb... 😭😭😭 What do I even say to that? My brother told me I shouldn’t tell people what to do, they’re adults. And he’s right, but it still hurts to see, you know? (Probably gonna delete this later.)
