A Recent Tahajjud Blessing – Alhamdulillah
Let me share something that happened last year (2025)… My mother has been dealing with hyperthyroidism for about 25 years. Lately, she started losing weight quickly, so we went for more tests. The doctors then told us that along with her thyroid issue, there seemed to be a tumor as well. They said she’d need two surgeries in one day: a thyroidectomy and another one on her chest to remove what they thought was a tumor. That second surgery really scared us-it was major, with big risks, and she’d have to stay in the CCU afterwards. Honestly, we were shattered. It felt like all we could do was make dua. I can’t fully describe how hard those days were. She traveled for treatment on May 12, and the surgeries were set for May 15. Over those three days, I started waking up for Tahajjud, making lots of dua for her. I kept begging Allah to ease things for my mother and grant her full shifa. The night before the operation, I cried a lot and slept really late. I honestly thought I wouldn’t manage to wake up for Tahajjud. Before dozing off, I made a simple dua: "Ya Allah, please wake me up for Tahajjud at 3am." What happened next still amazes me… I was in a deep sleep when suddenly I felt a very cold breeze on my face, wallahi. I sat up quickly, thinking someone was there, but no one was. Then I checked the time-it was just 3-4 minutes before my alarm was set for 3:05 AM. I got up, prayed Tahajjud, and continued my dua for her. Then came the part none of us expected… The surgeons did the thyroidectomy first, and the chest surgeon was on standby for the second one. But during the operation, they successfully removed her thyroid gland-it took six hours-and found that there was no tumor at all! So that second surgery never had to happen. The operation we feared the most just wasn’t needed. And Alhamdulillah, when all the cancer-related tests came back later, they were completely clear. 😭 I know others might see things differently, but for me and my family, this was a beautiful reminder of Allah’s mercy and the power of sincere dua and Tahajjud. Alhamdulillah, Allah can truly change situations in ways we can’t even imagine…
