A Big Leap in 2026 Hajj Services, Amirul Hajj Member Says Pilgrims Feel Like "VIP Guests"
HR Muhammad Syafi'i, a member of Amirul Hajj 1447 AH/2026 CE, reckons that this year's Hajj has seen a massive leap in service quality for Indonesian pilgrims. Improvements are visible across the board, from departure, transportation, accommodation, and meals, to healthcare in Saudi Arabia.
He says the upgrade was already noticeable from the departure phase, with tight flight scheduling and strict health checks based on istitha'ah. 'Health checks are carried out rigorously to make sure pilgrims are truly fit to perform Hajj. This is how the state is present to safeguard pilgrims,' he said.
Syafi'i also got positive feedback from pilgrims about transportation and accommodation. 'A lot of pilgrims said they felt like VIP guests. They were greeted right on arrival, shown to the bus, and taken straight to the hotel,' he added. The quality of hotels and 24-hour shalawat bus access also helped with comfort.
On the food side, there were almost no complaints, and healthcare also improved thanks to satellite clinic optimization and partnerships with Saudi German Hospital. Syafi'i hopes these achievements can be kept up and built on next Hajj season. 'If this year is already really good with relatively short prep time, God willing, next year can be even way better,' he stressed.
