10 Key Recommendations from Amirul Hajj for Improving Hajj Services in 2027
The 2026 Amirul Hajj team put forward 10 important recommendations to boost the quality of next year's hajj operations. These suggestions cover better facilities in Mina, transportation, accommodation, health services, and even a proposal to look into opening Taif Airport. This was all shared during the 2026 Amirul Hajj Exit Meeting at the Jeddah Hajj Affairs Office, Saturday (6/6/2026).
Minister of Hajj and Umrah Mochamad Irfan Yusuf gave a shoutout to everyone involved. He said, despite the challenges from having such a diverse crowd of pilgrims, this year's hajj went pretty well. Head of the Saudi Arabia PPIH Ian Heriyawan reported that quota usage hit 99.6 percent, with about 600 spots unfilled, and 30,500 pilgrims had already returned home.
Amirul Hajj Secretary Ilfi Nurdiana laid out the strategic recommendations: better Mina services; precise transportation before and after Armuzna; faster shalawat buses after Armuzna; more efficient hotel services near the Grand Mosque; using more local products for catering; petugas training; stronger service standards; health diplomacy and better Armuzna accommodation; eco-friendly services; and integrated push services for elderly and high-risk pilgrims, plus a study on opening Taif Airport.
The forum also noted that pilgrim satisfaction is on the up, with fewer complaints and audit findings. That's a solid foundation to build on for improving Indonesia's hajj services in the future.
